Some of the international energy efficiency and savings standards adopted and approved as Mongolian national standards

12/18/2020

The Ministry of Energy and the Energy Regulatory Commission are working together to ensure the implementation of the Energy Conservation Law and to translate the energy saving and efficiency standards into national standards as part of the implementation of the National Energy Program.

A series of ISO 50000 and Energy Audit Standards for Energy Management Systems, a total of 11 standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) were translated and developed by professional organizations, experts, and consulting engineers to determine the losses and efficiencies of rotary electric machinery, and power transformers. These standards including the European Union's (EN) series of energy audit standards, the IEC's Rotating Electric Machine Loss and Efficiency, and Power Transformer Energy Efficiency were examined by the Energy Technical Committee of the Agency for Meteorolgy and Hydrology and approved as a national standard by the order of the Director of the Standardization and Metrology Agency on October 28, 2019.

  1. MNS EN 16247-3:2019 Energy Audit, part 3: Industrial
  2. MNS EN 16247-4:2019 Energy Audit, part 4: Transportation
  3. MNS IEC 60034-2-1:2019 Rotating electric machine. (Standard methods for determining losses and gains from test results)
  4. MNS IEC 60034-30-1:2019 Rotating electric machine. Categorize the profitability ratio of rotating electric machine (IE code)
  5. MNS IEC 60076-20: 2019 Power transformers, part 20. Energy efficiency
  6. MNS IEC 60076-8: 2019 Power transformers, part 8. Instructions for use

Introducing these standards as national standards to achieve the goals and objectives of the National Energy Saving Program, will create efficiency and savings at all levels of energy consumption, increase production and service efficiency, increase productivity, reduce expenses. In addition, it will help to increase a certain percentage of domestic energy supply, and thus make a real contribution to improving the competitiveness of the country's economy and business, ensuring sustainable development and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
